Hansa-flex football tournament 2023: many goals for a good cause
Over two days in Bremen, in bright sunshine and summery 30 degrees, people celebrated, talked and, of course, played football. Old friends met again and new faces were welcomed. Particularly pleasing was the participation of the new colleagues from KNAPHEIDE, who recently joined the HANSA‑FLEX family. With three strong teams, they enriched the football tournament and ensured exciting games.
The two-day event kicked off with a barbecue evening on Friday, where the Executive Board itself grilled for several hours and handed out sausages to all employees. In a lively atmosphere, colleagues from all over the world celebrated their reunion and looked forward to the start of the football tournament the following day.
The actual tournament day on Saturday brought goosebumps and pure excitement. After the many high-scoring matches of the 33 teams, the Poland Dragons met the team FRIENDS HF SERBIA in the final. Both teams had already been successful in the group phase and won the knockout matches. In the final it was the expected exciting game, both teams had good opportunities to take the lead. In the end, the colleagues from Poland were allowed to duly celebrate a 2:1 victory.
One of the most moving moments of the tournament, however, was the group photo. It was not just that more than 800 employees gathered for this, but rather the customary shout of “HANSA‑FLEX”, which could be heard loudly all over the pitch and thus expressed the cohesion between colleagues and the bond to the company.
The event was also held under the motto “Goals for Charity”. For each of the 292 goals scored, HANSA‑FLEX donated 50 euros to those affected by the severe earthquakes in Turkey. The money will be used to buy housing containers to provide shelter for people who are still homeless in the Hatay region. Families who have lost their homes and are still living in tents can find accommodation there.
We would like to thank all the players and fans who made the football tournament so unique. Of course, we would also like to thank all the helpers and ATS Buntentor for the use of their facilities. We are already looking forward to next year!
